they exhausted their blood-qi. so the reactive force kicked in with the shock-wave. he was pacing his hits and the amount of force not to exhaust his blood-Qi. that's why the older brother in purple said at the end" he has so much blood-qi for someone who's only broken 1 shackle." everyone else in the competition had minimum of 3 shackles broken excluding the guy who hit the bird for 2.67 at 4 shackles. he's potential is a lot higher then the rest. they also hit it more than once. for time saving they only showed 1 hit here and there for the rematch.
